More than 3,200 animal victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita have been reunited with their families using this database, and many others were rescued and have found new homes.

Please note, several changes have been made to the AERN database. Also, please bookmark this page as there will no longer be a link to it from the Petfinder.com page as of April 14, 2006

Records for lost/found pets may still be entered and searched, but records can only be modified by sending changes to Katrina@petfinder.com. The other functions of the database (rescue requests, etc...) have now been inactivated.

We want to thank the many organizations that collaborated on this database, the shelters that provided care for these pets, all the animal welfare professionals and thousands of volunteers that worked tirelessly to reunite these pets with their families, Maddie's Fund for supporting this effort and our staff.

Thank you all for helping to make a difference in such a tragic situation.
